QUALITY CONTROL

To exercise quality control over works, apart from field staff four Research Laboratories are functioning. These laboratories are well equiped for carrying out various tests required for civil engineering purpose. These laboratories are stationed at Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh and Jagdalpur. One testing laboratory is also working in NH. at Raipur.

The setup is as follows :-

Above laboratories are controlled by higher offices viz E-in-C, Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineers of respactive places. These laboratories have well qualifies and experienced Research Staff for carrying out tests.

Quality control over works in field

To exercise quality control of ongoing works 5 Mobile laboratories fitted in mobile van are available. One mobile is available with Regional Research Laboratory P.W.D., Raipur, One Mobile Van with NH laboratory, P.W.D. Raipur, One Mobile Van with NH Division, Bilaspur, One Mobile Van with Research Laboratory Bilaspur and one Mobile Van with NH. Division, Jagdalpur.

Mobile Vans of NH. division are fitted with (equipments like pavement core drillings machine to take out core samples of Bituminous works. mobile van of PWD , Raipur & Bilaspur willbe fitted with above core drilling machine very soon, proceeding is in progress.

All Mobile Vans are also equipped to carry out various field tests like field density test, Grading, Flakiness Index, Binder content, Thickness of pavement etc.
